FAQs

What is Sharp and Social?

1

We are a social club dedicated to crafting connection, one thread at a time. In an age of digital noise and instant gratification, we created a space to slow down, work with our hands, and build real community. Whether you are looking to learn a new skill or just want a place to hang out with other creatives, we have a seat at the table for you.

Everyone! We believe that making things with your hands is good for the brain, but making them with friends is good for the soul. We welcome all backgrounds, ages, and skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned pro or don't know a running stitch from a martini garnish, you are welcome here.

Who is this for?

Do I need experience to join?

3

Not at all. For our Workshops (like Embroidery Essentials or Not your Granny’s Crochet), we provide all the instruction you need to get started. For our Craft and Yap nights, you can bring whatever you are working on, even if you’re just starting out. We celebrate messy first drafts and tangled threads just as much as finished masterpieces.

How do I sign up?

4

Join our EMAIL LIST to stay up to date on all things Sharp and Social. You can view our calendar and purchase tickets directly through our homepage. We recommend booking early as space is often limited to keep the setting intimate, most of our events sell out!

Where are the events located?

5

We host our gatherings at various inspired locations in North Jersey to support our local ecosystem. Currently, many of our upcoming events, like Embroidery Essentials, are held at South Street Gardens in Morristown, NJ. Check the specific event listing for the exact address. Our Craft and Yap’s are hosted at local bars, stay tuned for those individual announcements!

What is the difference between the "Craft and Yap," "Workshops," and the "Slow Stitch Soiree?"

6

Craft and Yap: Think of this as a casual hangout. Bring your own work-in-progress (WIP)—knitting, embroidery, sketching, etc.—and join us for conversation. There is no formal instruction; it’s just a chance to get out of the house and make progress on your project in good company.

Workshops: These are guided, skill-based sessions designed to teach you something new (like our Embroidery Essentials). We provide the materials, the pattern kit, and the expertise. You leave with a new skill and a started project.

Slow Stitch Soiree: This is our signature 3-hour event. It’s an immersive experience featuring local food, live music, and a curated maker's market. It’s less about instruction and more about enjoying the vibe, supporting local partners, and relaxing.

Do I need to bring my own supplies?

7

For Workshops: No! We provide a beautiful, exclusive pattern kit and all necessary tools.

For Craft and Yap: Yes, please bring whatever project you are currently working on.

For Soirees: Details may vary per event, but generally, we provide the atmosphere and entertainment; you bring your hands and your conversation.

How can I stay updated on new events?

The ticket price covers all the coordination for the event, the venues, and your spot at the event.
